Warning: Another Twitter DM Scam Making The Rounds

by Greg Bussmann on November 2, 2009

There seems to be yet another, albeit particularly nasty, phishing attempt rolling through Twitter today. This one is an attempt to hijack your Twitter account.

To make matters worse, some of these DM’s might be coming from people you know, so your guard may be down a bit, but don’t automatically click on the link because you recognize the person in the picture. Take a moment to read the message, it should sound pretty ’spammy’ to you.

What do you do if you already clicked the link?

Change your Twitter password as soon as possible.

And remember, only give your Twitter credentials to applications you trust.
