The Seal of The Archdiocese of St. Louis

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is now using Twitter to let it’s followers know about its news and events, like the recent appointment of new Archbishop Robert Carlson. The Archdiocese is the administrative leader of all the Catholic churches in the area, and the Archbishop is the spiritual leader.

It is interesting to see an organization that some may find old and out of touch embracing social media. The announcement of the appointment of the new archbishop was made over text message, and a look at the Archdiocese’s website shows lots of use of social media. They have even written a blog post on why they decided to use Twitter.
